Oracle Top CRM Software Application

Despite claims from SAP, Oracle achieved the number one Customer Relationship Management software market share leader position as expressed by the majority of research and analyst firms. The leadership position was clearly boosted by its M&A strategy, with a minor effect coming from its PeopleSoft acquisition and a major effect realized from its nearly $6 billion Siebel Systems acquisition in 2005. With its portfolio of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software solutions, Oracle now supports over 20 vertical market and industry specific CRM applications.

As expected, analyst software rankings and market share measurements are not in complete alignment, however, the collective trend clearly shows Oracle's market leading position.

• Research firm IDC states that Oracle (Siebel) CRM is the CRM market share leader in the traditional CRM application software categories of sales force automation (SFA), marketing and customer service. Within the transactional Customer Relationship Management software market, Oracle was rated first with a 15.6 percent market share. IDC also reports that Oracle's strength is in Sales Force Automation (SFA) where the company benefits strongly from the Siebel acquisition and holds the leadership position with $587M revenues and 17.9 percent market share.

• Datamonitor also reported Oracle CRM the clear leader in the Customer Relationship Management software industry. Datamonitor's, Decision Matrix, reports that "Oracle's CRM systems, and particularly Oracle Siebel CRM, are among the leading solutions in almost every aspect of CRM technology, comprehensively outpacing all other competitors."

• Analyst firm Gartner's 2007 CRM vendor rankings place Oracle (Siebel) CRM in the Magic Quadrant's for Multichannel Campaign Management, CRM Contact Centers, Customer Data Integration Hubs, Field Service Management and Sales Force Automation (SFA).

• Forrester's Enterprise CRM Wave places Oracle's (Siebel) CRM as a clear software leader and rates Oracle as a market leader in 11 different Forrester Wave reports.
